Exploring History: The Liberty Bell vs. The Culeoka Bell at Webb School

During my recent trip to Philadelphia for the annual ALA conference, I had the incredible chance to visit the iconic Liberty Bell. This experience inspired me to compare it with the Culeoka Bell at Webb School, which holds a special place in our community’s history.

The Liberty Bell, with its famous crack and symbolism of freedom, is a national treasure recognized everywhere. On the other hand, the Culeoka Bell may not be as widely known, but it carries its own unique story and significance for our school.

I created some graphics to compare key aspects like historical context, size, and the legends surrounding each bell. The Liberty Bell dates back to 1752 and symbolizes American independence, while the Culeoka Bell has been a cherished part of Webb School’s heritage since the 19th century, representing our school spirit and values.
