Screening of The Librarians
On December 7, I had the opportunity to attend a screening of The Librarians at the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, and it is an experience I won’t soon forget.
This documentary is both powerful and difficult to watch. It shines a light on the very real challenges librarians across the country are facing and reminds us why this work matters so deeply. Seeing these stories on the big screen, surrounded by others who care about libraries, intellectual freedom, and access to information, made the evening especially meaningful.
The post-film panel discussion featuring Wolfgang Bronner, Angela Frederick, Nancy Garrett, Lindsey Kimery, and Ciona Rouse was truly enlightening. Their perspectives brought the issues in the film into sharp focus and grounded the conversation in the lived experiences of librarians and advocates right here in our communities.
A huge thank you to the Belcourt Theatre for hosting such an important event and creating space for this conversation.
If you missed the December 7 screening, there are two more opportunities to see The Librarians at the Belcourt Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday, December 10–11 at 5:45 PM. I highly recommend attending if you can.
